There are currently multiple rumors abound regarding the status of WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia. Garcia herself posted on her official Twitter page on May 6th that she had been off of both Payback and this past Monday night’s edition of Raw dealing with a family emergency, but hoped to be back next week.

However, former WWE writer Court Bauer noted on the most recent edition of MLW Radio that Garcia was actually “quietly let go” from WWE last week. Bauer was then informed of Garcia’s tweet, but claimed that he was able to confirm her release with someone who works for the company right before his podcast was recorded. Furthermore, Bauer and other sources also noted that it may also be possible that the company may not be renewing Garcia’s current deal or that Garcia herself may have chosen to not renew her deal.

Despite these multiple reports, WWE has yet to issue any kind of an official statement regarding Garcia’s current status with the company.

UPDATE:

As previously reported, multiple rumors began swirling Friday regarding the current status of WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia, with numerous websites reporting that she had either been released from the company or her current deal was being allowed to expire, while Garcia herself posted on her official Twitter page that she had been away dealing with a family emergency.

In an update, ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that Garcia has actually not been released from WWE and that she has actually been at her father’s side, as he is currently dealing with complications due to cancer that arose at some point this month. Because of this, the website reports that WWE approved emergency leave for Garcia to be with him and has also been checking in with her ever since to see how things are.

The latest word is that Garcia’s father is said to have been doing much better over the past few days and that Garcia is reportedly planning to be at next Monday night’s edition of Raw.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I’ve followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I’ve tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn’t want to ruin my face). I’m currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
