Mike Snider (13-7-3) via RTD of Rd. 5 Co- Main Event: Malik Hawkins (16-0) v All Rivera (20-3) Rd. 1 The pair come out swinging heavy leather early on with Rivera being a bit more reckless than Hawkins. Malik pressures All against the ropes for a period before the pair circle out into the center of the ring and Malik lands a hard overhand right but River answers with a right of his own however Malik looks unfazed. The pair then clinch a bit then Hawkins steps back and lands a heavy inside left hook, followed by another that drops Rivera. Rivera looks visibly stunned on the canvas, he attempts to get up but is counted out and Hawkins gets the win in the first round. Malik Hawkins (17-0) def. Al Rivera (20-4) via KO of Rd. 1 Main Event: Lionell Thompson (20-5) v Scott Sigmon (34-13-1) Rd: 1-3 The opening bell brings the pair to the center and immediately Lionell establishes his dominance by peppering Scott to the body and coming hard over the top. Scott seemingly shakes this offense off and pushes forward however every time he pushes forward he is popped in the face. Scott begins talking to Thompson during the bout although it’s unknown what he is saying and Lionell remains determined with his gameplan of haulting any offense Scott can provide. The first 3 rounds pass with much of the same, Sigmon pressuring but to no avail and Lionell picking him apart. Rd 4-7 It’s almost as if the first 3 rounds are getting replayed through the second 3. Sigmon has no answer for Thompson’s offense but he continues to press forward. Around round five, Sigmon’s nose begins to trickle blood on and inside of it. This still doesn’t detour Scott as he continually presses forward and is continually eating Lionell’s leather. In round six Thompson begins to pull away more and the crowd is sensing a stoppage is near as Lionell lights up Scott’s nose and more blood is leaking out of it. Round seven served as a highlight reel for Thompson as he treated Scott like a used punching bag and as the round ended, referee Jay Nady went to the corner of Sigmon’s and asked if he should stop it and the corner agreed. Lionell Thompson (21-5) def. Scott Sigmon (34-14-1) via RTD of Rd. 7

Aaron Portier
Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I’ve followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I’ve tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn’t want to ruin my face). I’m currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
