Ben Saunders (16-6-2) was set to main event Titan FC 29 at the end of this month alongside Matt Riddle but Riddle had to pull out due to injury and was replaced by Jose Pele Landi-Jons but shortly after, Saunders was called back to the UFC.

Ben was granted his release and will now face off with RFA vet Chris Heatherly (8-1) at a UFC Fight Night 49 in Tulsa, OK.

Ben went 4-3 in his first stint in the octagon and since his departure he has gone 8-3 with most of his fights being in Bellator where he was the Season 5 and 8 welterweight runner-up.

He was also a member of TUF 6 as part of Team Matt Serra’s team where he was eliminated in his second fight on the show by unanimous decision to Tom Speer and Mac Danzig went on to win.

Another veteran of Bellator has just received a replacement opponent, King Mo, Muhammed Lawal (12-4) was set to face Tom Deblass but Tom had to withdraw from the contest due to injury and Lawal will now face off with Marcus Sursa (13-8) at Bellator 123.

Sursa has won his last 2 bouts and via submission both from 3rd round chokes against Eric Schambari and most recently against Andrew Kapel.

Mo dropped his last bout to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for the finale of The Season 10 Bellator Light Heavyweight Tournament.

Also on the card will be a heavyweight clashes between Cheick Kongo and Lavar Johnson as well as Bobby Lashley being pitted against Josh Burns and will be headlined by the rematch for the Featherweight Title between Pat Curran and Patricio Freire.

However it may not matter if King Mo won or lost against Rampage as the winner didn’t even receive the next title shot. The shot went to Joey Beltran, however Jackson and the current Champion, Newton are friends.

If Beltran is to defeat Newton then it is likely Rampage would face him for the Bellator Light Heavyweight Title.
