Surprise No. 1 Contenders For WWE Universal and World Titles

The main event for WWE SmackDown Live’s top championship for August’s SummerSlam event in Brooklyn, New York has been made official, as Dean Ambrosewill defend the brand’s WWE World Championship against Dolph Ziggler at the event.

Ziggler defeated John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, and Apollo Crews in a Six-Pack Challenge to earn the title shot against Ambrose at SummerSlam on Tuesday night’s edition of SmackDown Live.

The match to determine WWE Raw’s first-ever Universal Champion is now official for August’s SummerSlam event, as Seth Rollins will face Finn Balorat the event. The winner of that match will become the inaugural champion.

Balor defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of Monday night’s edition of Raw to advance to SummerSlam after the two won respective Fatal 4 Way matches earlier in the broadcast.
