WWE Releases Santino Morella, Cameron and El Torito

Santino Marella’s time with the company goes back all the way to 2005 where he trained at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a developmental territory for WWE. He made his debut on the April 16, 2007 episode of Raw from Milan, Italy and won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a shocking fashion. He would go on to become one of WWE’s most beloved comedy wrestlers winning the WWE United States Title, WWE Tag Team Championship and also Miss WrestleMania!

Santino announced his retirement from the ring on July 6 at a house show in Toronto, Ontario following a third neck injury.

El Torito made his debut with WWE on the September 30, episode of Raw, as the mascot of Los Matadores. Following the end of the stable as a trio in September 2015, El Torito mainly just appeared in backstage comedy segments, before not appearing on TV any longer.

Cameron made her WWE main roster debut in 2012 as one of the dancers along with Naomi, for Brodus Clay. She became a singles competitor in 2014 feuding with then WWE Divas Champion Paige and a number of other top WWE Divas.

After taking a hiatus from WWE television, Cameron made her return in November 2015 on an episode of NXT. On the January 13, 2016, episode of NXT, Cameron competed in a battle royal to determine the number one contender for Bayley’s NXT Women’s Championship, which was won by Carmella.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
