#1 lightweight contender Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone appeared recently on Submission Radio for a characteristically colorful conversation, via Kirik Jenness on mixedmartialarts.com
Cerrone fights division champion Rafael Dos Anjos UFC in the main event of UFC on Fox: Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2 (also known as UFC on FOX 17) on December 19, 2015 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Dos Anjos has complained that Cerrone is getting more attention than him going into the fight, noting that Cowboy’s cowboy hat is bigger than the belt on the event poster.
“That’s like really something petty to f—ing bitch about,” explained Cerrone. “But I don’t know if you’ve seen when Diaz fought GSP. Diaz was huge, GSP was small size. It’s just something they do, you know. It’s not like their like ‘oh Cowboy and not him’. There’s been several posters that they do that. He’s just crying over spilt f—ing milk, so whatever.”
“Dos Anjos, his wrestling and grappling is supposed to be good, but I feel my Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and striking is way better. I’m better than him all across the board. So this fight is all mine. I’m 100 percent confident. I feel the best I’ve ever felt, literally.”
“I feel good. I feel like a wolf among the sheep.
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has famously been working with Movement Coach Ido Portal, but ‘Cowboy’ is not impressed.
“Someone asked me if I had a movement coach and I said I have no f—ing idea what a movement coach is,” said Cerrone. “So he can work with a f—ing ballerina. I don’t give a s— what the kid does, you know. Whatever helps him out. Like sure, if you think movement coach, jumping over sticks and s— is gonna help you, it f—ing might. I don’t know. Maybe I’m in the dark ages here.”
McGregor has called for a fight with the winner of RDA vs. Cerrone, and Cerrone is happy to oblige.
“Come on with it baby,” he said. “I love it. I love the idea.”
Cowboy had a one word reply when asked what’s the first thing that comes to his mind when he hears McGregor’s name.
“Pussy,” he said.
