King Barrett’s absence since the WWE TLC Kickoff pre-show in a backstage segment has been the subject of much speculation with many wondering why he did not appear on the actual pay-per-view broadcast or last night’s RawWrestling Observer Radio today that Barrett is injured.

Wrestling Observer Radio today reports that Barrett is injured although the severity remains unknown.

WWE Superstar King Barrett has responded to reports concerning a possible injury as he was not seen during the live TLC PPV broadcast or Monday’s WWE Raw.

He tweeted he’s taking some time off to rehab nerve damage in his neck. Barrett called it “nothing major.”

“Rehabbing a little nerve damage in my neck at the moment, hence the disappearing act. Nothing major, but not worth taking unnecessary risks.”

Barrett has been used very sparingly as of late and it seems as though the WWE Creative team isn’t planning on adding any prestige to those that win the King of the Ring. Since winning the once proud tournament Barrett has merely been a back drop in very few storylines. He was the randomly added partner for Stardust when the pair took on Neville and Arrow actor Stephen Amell in a match-up at Summerslam. Then after the duo lost Barrett turned on Stardust and was subsequently off of television for awhile until he resurfaced recently to join the newly formed League of Nations alongside Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio.

It would make sense to have Wade return vying for the WWE Intercontinental Title as he is a heel and could add into the fray against current champion, Dean Ambrose. Ambrose looks to be heading into a direction of a triple threat against Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
