Cena’s Open Challenge to Return, Terri Runnels Coming Back and Legend’s Segment Unveiled

(Rusev (L), Lana (M) and John Cena (R))

John Cena may be defending his U.S Title on Tonight’s Raw from Buffalo in the return of the U.S. Open Challenge, as the following teaser from WWE.com mentions:

“One night after reclaiming the United States Championship from Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, John Cena defended his star-spangled prize on Raw, sealing a victory over The Architect with an Attitude Adjustment. Now that Rollins has already used his guaranteed rematch for the prestigious title, will Raw bring the return of Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge? If so, who is bold enough to face The Champ?”

Cena has had 5 star quality matches with Stardust, Tyson Kidd, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose and even Zach Ryder. The open challenge is a masterful angle that helps mid-card wrestlers showcase their craft against Cena and it creates an open door for rivalries that could be meaningful down the road.

The WWL have revealed recently that Attitude Era star Terri Runnels is going to be LIVE in Colchester in 2 weeks time for Stars of the Squared Circle

Terri joins Sting, Road Warrior Animal, Gail Kim, Eric Young & BRAM on an impressive line up for the Essex promotion. Terri has been absent from wrestling and has done charity work since 2004. Sting just competed for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a losing effort against Seth Rollins, Gail, Young and Bram have been on Total Nonstop Action for awhile now. Bram however has undergone some legal troubles with his recent girlfriend including some allegations of domestic abuse.

WWE is reportedly planning to have an in-ring segment with Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and one other name for Monday’s WWE Raw on Oct, 19.

The idea is to have them make predictions on who they think will win the Hell in a Cell main event between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, much like they did back in in January with Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, and Flair giving their predictions on the Royal Rumble match.

This will be Lesnar and Undertaker’s second Hell in a Cell match up, where their first was an epic back at the No Mercy Pay-Per-View in 2002. It was shocking at the time that Brock Lesnar would go over on the “American Badass” version of the Undertaker. In close to a 30 minute match-up the pair had many crowd pleasing spots and Lesnar would bring out his wild side by enjoying the blood bath he was partaking in.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
