Sting was unable to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins in the main event of WWE’s Night of Champions PPV on Sunday night. Whether he was scheduled to or not remains to be seen but the match was reported as ending earlier than was expected due to a possibly career ending injury sustained from Sting. This altered the direction for him in the WWE especially for Monday’s Raw, Dave Meltzer had the inside scoop:
Sting did not appear on last night’s episode of Raw was because he returned home according to Dave Meltzer on today’s episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio.
The original script was for him to a make a big announcement at the beginning of the show live in person, but with him suffering a neck injury, those plans were scrapped because Sting was not backstage at the show.
Dave Meltzer today reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Sting underwent CAT and MRI medical testing yesterday following his Night of Champions injury and the good news is that he has not broken his neck.
Meltzer said: “he was able to walk after the PPV, but he was not doing well…The MRI showed no fractures”.
Meltzer noted even if Sting makes a full recovery, WWE officials will be weary about putting him back in the ring.
Former WWE and TNA superstar Kurt Angle’s brother was taken into custody earlier this week and Kurt voiced his distraught feelings. He issued the following statement after the news of the arrest of brother David Angle on charges of allegedly murdering his wife:
“This has been a very trying time for everyone in my family. We ask that you respect our privacy to mourn our loss. I love my family very much and will support them every way I can. Thank you.”
Then finally the man that tried to enter himself into the 6 man tag match on Sunday night has received his sentence:
Oscar Ramirez, 37, the fan who jumped the railing at the Night of Champions PPV and made it into the ring before the Wyatt Family vs. Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose & Chris Jericho match has been charged with criminal trespass of a property or building with no forced entry.
He will spend 10 days in jail.
If his case went to trial he would be looking at up to a one year jail term.
