As previously reported, WWE has announced that “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes died today at the age of 69 last Thursday. However some were still confused as to how exactly he passed. Rumors speculated many things but TMZ always seems to be in the know and in the right place at the right time.

In an update, celebrity gossip website TMZ.com reported that emergency personnel responded to Rhodes’s home in Orlando, Florida at approximately 5:56 Wednesday morning after reports that a 69-year-old male had suffered a fall. Rhodes was then taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead earlier today by doctors, who cited “numerous complications” that Rhodes endured throughout the night.

It was also reported that members of Rhodes’s immediate family rushed to the hospital once they received word that he was there.

TMZ.com reported earlier  that emergency personnel responded to Dusty Rhodes home in Orlando, Florida at 5:56 am on Wednesday morning after he had taken a fall. They noted he suffered “numerous complications” which ultimately lead to his death on Thursday morning.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that those “numerous complications” were that Dusty’s kidneys shut down and he became dehydrated.

Dusty has two sons and both inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame. Cody (Stardust) Rhodes and Dustin (Goldust) Runnels. Runnels released a statement on his father’s untimely death on social media this past weekend.

Dustin Runnels aka Goldust posted the following tribute to his Father on Facebook:

Yesterday my father passed away with his four children, my daughter and his wife of 38 yrs. he was our hero and the greatest father in the world. He is the reason why I am who I am today. He taught me so so many lessons in life. He had 1 thing that he wanted to be and that was he wanted to be forever young. Now he is. Now he is dancing with angels in heaven. He was my mentor, my hero and a dad that I strive to be like. I love you dad. Thank you for all the overwhelmingly amount of love and support. He would have been on cloud 9 with this.

Thank you all. Dustin Runnels

His other son Cody has not been on his Twitter account in 5 days time.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
