Walel Watson Will Look to Beat the Odds Makers Again at Titan FC 33

Walel “The Gazelle” Watson (13-7) is a fighter that likes to annoy the Vegas odds makers. In his last two outings he was a considerable underdog, but left those that bet against him with their hands in their empty pockets while his were in the air.

At Titan FC 28 he choked out William Joplin in the 3rd round and in his last contest at Titan FC 30 against Anthony Gutierrez, the Gazelle galloped away with a triangle choke in only 3 minutes into the first round.

Now this Friday night at Titan FC 33 he will come in as an underdog once more against the undefeated Brett Johns (10-0). This time if Walel leaves with his hand raised he’ll have a TFC Bantamweight Strap to show for it. This bout will be one of four titles being competed for on the card, which will serve as the main attraction of the first night of Aerofest.

Walel will be fighting in his first ever title fight and couldn’t be more focused or excited. His time spent in the gym will come to fruition when he enters the cage Friday night.

“It’s an honor to fight for title it’s what I’ve been working for since day one to be a champ!! Every fight is the biggest fight of my career and this is no different. I’m sure we both hold our own advantages in the fight game but it’s my time and that’s all that matters I’ve worked too hard for this moment and no one will take it from me!!”

Watson has already had 4 fights in the UFC and with a win he could go right back. If he doesn’t another fight on the card (Austin Lyons vs Anthony Gutierrez) may provide him with his next opponent if he is to pick up the win.

“Will the UFC pick me up with a win? Not thinking about that right now all 110% of me is focused on Brett. I’ve never watched Austin fight! But I know Anthony gamebred and will bring the heat ms will look to finish!!”

Watson has trained in every facet in preparation of this championship bout, and it appears he knows the holes in Johns game but refused to comment on them as the Gazelle leaped over the question. However he knows in the end he will have deja vu of his last tow Titan FC outings.

“Where are my advantages in this fight? Every where I’m more then prepared for everything, but I’m not exposing the hole (in this interview) sorry haha. I see the fight ending with my hand raised period and it don’t matter what round I’m ready to go 10 if I have too!!!”

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
