Premier Boxing Champions Fight Night Preview

Premier Boxing Champions makes it’s way to Spike TV on Friday. With the ratings and reception of the debut event looking good, expect a strong turnout on Friday night. Fight Night features former 147-pound world champion Andre Berto vs. Josesito Lopez and former 147-pound champion Shawn porter vs. Roberto Garcia.

Andre Berto (29-3-0) is a former WBC welterweight champion, holding the title for 6 defenses. Andre Berto lost the title to Victor Ortiz in 2011 and has gone 2-2 in his last 4. A shoulder tear took Berto out of the ring for nearly a year, but Berto was successful in defeating Steve Chambers in his September return of last year. Josesito Lopez (33-6) has recovered from KO losses to Canelo and Marcos Maidana to earn 3 consecutive victories over Mike Arnaoutis, Aaron Martinez and Rafael Cobos. “The Riverside Rocky” could get back to title contention in a big way with a win over the former champion in Friday’s Premier Boxing Champions.

Shawn Porter vs. Roberto Garcia

Former 147-pound champion Shawn Porter (24-1-1) looks to bounce back from his first professional loss and knockout Roberto Garcia (36-3-0). Porter is a former IBF welterweight champion taking 15 KO victories of his 24 professional victories. Roberto Garcia is 4-1 in his last 5 fights, riding a 4-fight winning streak into Friday’s matchup in Premier Boxing Champions.
