The UFC has announced that the legendary Rodrigo “Big Nog” Nogueira will be the new head coach opposite Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The Nevada State Athletic commission has requested that Anderson Silva “cease participation” in the series due to his temporary suspension following the preliminary results of his January 9th drug test preceding UFC 183.

Because the show is in Las Vegas, the NSAC rules are the law of the land for The Ultimate Fighter. As reported by MMApayout.com, it makes sense that the commission would want him removed from the show pending his hearing.

The series began filming on Monday, February 2nd, originally featuring Anderson Silva and former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua as head coaches. “Shogun” will continue on as coach of his own team and the new Nogueira team will now also include “Big Nog’s” twin brother Rogerio “Lil Nog” as as assistant head coach.
