Just yesterday, Wanderlei Silva posted to his Twitter and Instagram accounts that he had received a million dollar offer from WWE. We are not yet sure on the details of the of proposed deal, but as it stands Silva has the opportunity to make a lot more money than he was getting as an MMA fighter. Silva, a former UFC fighter and PRIDE Middleweight Champion, has been officially retired since September 19, 2014. Here’s Silva’s post (translated to English):

“I got a million dollar offer from WWE, and I’m thinking how only the MMA fighters get paid little money. They presented me numbers I have never seen before. What do you think of the idea?”

Well Mr. Silva, I’m sure no one would blame you for taking a million dollar deal, whether it’s to fight in the WWE, UFC, or even one of those inflatable sumo wrestling suit leagues. While fighting in the UFC, it would take Silva four or five brutal fights to make over a million dollars. With an injury history as long as Silva’s, it may be smart of him to switch over to less grueling, more entertaining league that is WWE.

Rumor has it that an invitation to join WWE has also been extended to another former UFC competitor, Chael Sonnen. Sonnen was an accomplished mixed martial artist who faced off against the best of the best in UFC including two matches with Anderson Silva, a victory over Michael Bisping, a matchup with the seemingly unstoppable Jon Jones, an impressive win over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, and his last fight a loss to “Suga” Rashad Evans.

Will the huge sums of money WWE is apparently willing to spend be enough to convince the two talented former mixed martial artists to take their talents to the world of wrestling?
