Something is staring to feel a lot like 2014. Chris Weidman’s highly anticipated middleweight title defense against Vitor Belfort at UFC 184 is off of the table. Several sources provided the news to MMA Junkie that middleweight champion Chris Weidman has suffered an injury in training and has been forced to withdraw from the card.

As a result of the injury, Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano will be moved up to the headlining Fight. Ronda Rousey (10-0) is coming off of a dominating 16 second victory over Alexis Davis at UFC 175. Ronda Rousey was originally set to face Cat Zingano as a coach on TUF 18, but a knee injury sidelined Zingano for almost a year and a half.

Cat Zingano (9-0) returned to the octagon in September, where she defeated Amanda Nunes via 3rd round TKO. Zingano is 2-0 in the UFC, defeating Nunes as well as former Strikeforce Bantamweight champion Meisha Tate.

Ronda Rousey is an arm bar specialist and a Judo master. However, her last two victories have come by way of KO and TKO. Of her 9 professional fights and victories, only one of Cat Zingano’s fights have gone the distance. It will be interesting to see which bantamweight will leave Los Angeles with their perfect record intact.
