During Monday’s WWE Raw, Paul Heyman did what Paul Heyman does best and promoted his client, current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. He normally talks about how Lesnar conquered the heralded streak of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30, then moves on to how he dismantled John Cena at Summerslam and at Night of Champions.

This time, he spotlighted Lesnar’s entire career accolades from being an undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Champion at one point and an undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion at another. These statements caught the ears of another former WWE Undisputed Champion.

That former champion was Olympic Gold Medalist and current active TNA wrestler, Kurt Angle. Kurt recently inked a new deal with TNA to dispel rumors of a possible WWE return. On Monday night, he decided to call out Heyman via Twitter to compare his rumor to that of Brock Lesnar’s.

Heyman responded with a formidable tweet of his own:

Angle acknowledged the response and answered in a very classy way:

Brock and Kurt were key factors in the Aggression Era stage of the WWE and had many memorable battles. Kurt recently wrestled another former WWE star in MVP on TNA’s first ever show on the Destination America Channel.

TNA reportedly wanted two former WWE World Champions to take up an authority figure role much like what Kurt Angle was doing for the company before his new contract. The first person that was sought after was Edge, a friend of Kurt Angle. However, the company and the former wrestler never reached negotiation stages. It was said that TNA tried feelers for a “fish that didn’t bite.”

Edge was on the New Year’s edition of Monday Night Raw with his former longtime tag-team partner and good friend Christian, who was a former TNA World Champion. The other person TNA wanted to negotiate a future with was Alberto Del Rio. Rio had been released by the WWE following an altercation backstage.

That plan was scrapped as well as Del Rio is set to make his debut with Ring of Honor Wrestling this week against Roedrick Strong. Del Rio is also linked to possibly competing in the sport of MMA with Bellator MMA.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
