Chris Jericho Signs to WWE, Harlem Heat to Return

(WWE veteran Chris Jericho)

Former WWE Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho has recently inked a new contract with the WWE. Chris Jericho last appeared in a cage match with Bray Wyatt which he lost, but won a Slammy Award for most extreme moment of the year when he landed a cross body from the top of the cage. The match ended the feud between himself and Wyatt, but Jericho hasn’t returned since.

Most of Jericho’s WWE contracts are worked sporadically around his tour dates with his band Fozzy. His most recent contract suggests the same approach with somewhat of a twist. The dates that Chris Jericho released via his Twitter account are only live events and not televised, however the case could be that the WWE is keeping his appearances on televised events a secret.

Jericho is a legend in the industry and always included in marquee pay-per-view matches and major title opportunities. The WWE is said to be working hard with their creative team to make sure that Jericho is going to be included in a major storyline to play a part of lead up to WrestleMania 31. Chris was absent from last year’s WrestleMania, but he appeared a year beforehand in what many consider to be a major upset losing to Fandango in Fandango’s first ever WWE match.

Chris has wrestled in WrestleMania main events twice. His first was a loss to Triple H at WrestleMania 18 for the WWE undisputed title and his second came at the hands of CM Punk at WrestleMania 28. The WrestleMania 28 matchup wasn’t technically the official main event but it was the marquee match for the title of the company. The main event billed was the first bout between John Cena and The Rock which the The Rock won.

(Harlem Heat, wrestling duo Booker T and Stevie Ray)

Booker T has been absent from the ring for quite some time and has used his out of ring time to build his own wrestling promotion known as “The Reality of Wrestling” based out of Texas. In an event to be held at Clear Lake Sports and Recreation Complex on February 21st, Booker and his longtime teammate Stevie Ray aka The Harlem Heat will return for one night only and compete in a much anticipated in-ring affair with opponents tbd.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
