Daniel Bryan Lists 5 Opponents He’d Like to Face

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has appeared sporadically on recent WWE television. First, he was the guest GM for both Raw and Smackdown after Team Cena removed The Authority from power. Then, he announced his coming return to in-ring action which will take place towards the end of the month at Royal Rumble.

The Rumble will be headlined by a WWE World Title Triple Threat match between “Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins and former champions, John Cena and “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar. Bryan will not be involved in the match but he has always expressed interest in a possible bout with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

Daniel Bryan spoke with MTV UK and expressed the following:

“One of the things that kills me about this is if I were champion right now I’d be wrestling Brock Lesnar and that’s the match I’ve always really wanted. I feel like we could do something completely different that people [wouldn’t] have seen before in the United States. That’s the match I really, really want.”

Bryan continued, releasing a short compilation of opponents he’d love the chance to share the squared circle with. In no particular order, Bryan wants to face “The King of Swing” Cesaro, who has now aligned himself with Tyson Kidd to form a sort of obscure tag team alliance.

Bryan made note that another man in the main event of the Royal Rumble had taken interest in a possible tilt, “Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins. Both Bryan and Rollins competed in the Ring of Honor promotion under the names “Bryan Danielson” and “Tyler Black”.

Bryan went on to name Royal Rumble’s odds-on favorite, Roman Reigns. The last reported plans for the main event for WrestleMania 31 were to pit Brock Lesnar against Roman Reigns with Reigns winning the match.

The final opponent Bryan listed was the last member of the Shield, Dean Ambrose. Dean seems to be nearing the end of a feud with Bray Wyatt and has become a fun crowd-pleasing wrestler since beginning his singles career. Time will tell if Bryan’s list will be fulfilled, but the Royal Rumble is looming and if Reigns isn’t targeted for the victory, one would assume that Daniel Bryan is plan B.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
