Former WWE’s NXT Champion and poster child for the Florida-based promotion has been keeping fans on the edge of their seat. Now, he is reportedly getting the chance to appear on the WWE’s main roster.
Adrian won the NXT Title at NXT Arrival, which showcased on the WWE Network at the beginning of 2014. He defeated former long time NXT champion and current WWE roster member Bo Dallas. The event put the promotion and Adrian Neville on the map.
Adrian defended his title more and more throughout the remainder of the year only to have lost it at the last major NXT event called Revolution. Sami Zeyn defeated Neville to end his reign as champion at 287 days and the pair embraced in the ring after the very exciting contest. Wrestlingnewssource.com is reporting that Neville will be called up to the main roster very soon and the WWE execs are very high on the athletic Adrian. Another report recently surfaced that he may go through a character change, but would keep his patented high-octane “Red Arrow” finisher from the top rope.
Another wrestler formally from NXT, Bray Wyatt, will also receive a chance of a lifetime. He is the man that will look to add a second blemish to the record of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31.
Bray made his WWE pay-per-view debut by defeating the Undertaker’s brother Kane at Summerslam in an inferno match that Wyatt won. Another notable win of his came at the following Royal Rumble where he defeated Daniel Bryan, then went on to face John Cena at Wrestlemania 30. He lost that contest, but rebounded to defeat John at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in a steel cage match. The pair ended their rivalry at Payback where Cena would go on to win a Last Man Standing match. Since then, Wyatt had a feud with Jericho which ended in Bray winning a Steel Cage match. Most recently, Wyatt defeated Dean Ambrose in a TLC match at the TLC Pay-per-view.
The Undertaker has remained in hiatus after his first loss at Wrestlemania to the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. The decision to have the Undertaker lose to Brock was made by Vince McMahon the night of Wrestlemania 30. The Undertaker was reported to agree with the idea and considered Brock the most suitable for ending the streak.
Speculation had been that the Undertaker would take on Sting at Wrestlemania 31, but Sting will now take on Triple H. The Undertaker will now be paired with Bray Wyatt.
