Scott Coker Sees Curran vs Pitbull II as Classic Matchup!

Our Consulting Editor, Paul Maslak and our President, Luca Rajabi, had the opportunity to visit the Bellator offices in Southern California.  While there we sat down with Bellator MMA President, Scott Coker to get the run down on what’s happening at Bellator now that he’s at the helm.  In this 3rd of 4 total video segments Scott shares his opinions and experience with the evolution of MMA and how it has cultivated some of the most impressive talent to date.

He also shares some candid moments with us and gives his opinion on why Patricio Pitbull vs Pat Curran will be a classic match up!

With a renewed commitment to MMA fans and the fights they “want” to see, Bellator 123 promises to give us just what we’ve been asking for.  Headlining the event will be the much ancitipated rematch of Patrício Pitbull versus Pat Curran in a duel for the Bellator MMA featherweight title.

If you haven’t seen the two fight before you may want to strap yourself in. Patrício Pitbull (21-2-0) and Pat Curran (20-5-0) are featherweights with iron fists.  They have a definitive KO record that should ensure an action packed stand up strike fest.  The last time these two clashed at Bellator 85 the result was a split decision victory for Pat Curran.  It’s anyone’s guess whether this fight will go the distance, but one thing is for sure, you can count on an aggressive start to the match as they’re both gonna be anxious to make it absolutely clear who the better fighter is.

Along side these two explosive fighters will be a barrage of heavyweight and light heavyweight battles including:

  • Cheik Kongo vs. Lavar Johnson
  • Bobby Lashly vs. Josh Burns
  • Muhammad Lawal vs. Dustin Jacoby

The preliminary card will feature yet another heavyweight, two middleweight, and one bantamweight brawl with some of the freshest talent in MMA.  Bellator 123′s preliminary card will be live streamed on Spike.com this evening with the main card airing later tonight at 8/7C on Spike TV.
