Bellator MMA Returns to Spike TV Next Friday!

Are you ready?  We’ve been waiting what seems like a lifetime to see the first in a series of new events from Bellator under the helm of newly appointed president, Scott Coker.  Bellator 123 will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT next Friday September 5th.

While some of the best format changes have yet to be implemented, the promotion is wasting no time in building up the excitement for their season opener next week.  All our sources have been telling us there’s a revitalized spirit of optimism and excitement among the staff at Bellator and Spike TV for this new season and the fighters on their roster are equally as motivated.  With a renewed commitment to MMA fans and the fights they “want” to see, Bellator 123 promises to give us just what we’ve been asking for.  Headlining the event will be the much ancitipated rematch of Patrício Pitbull versus Pat Curran in a duel for the Bellator MMA featherweight title.

If you haven’t seen the two fight before you may want to strap yourself in. Patrício Pitbull (21-2-0) and Pat Curran (20-5-0) are featherweights with iron fists.  They have a definitive KO record that should ensure an action packed stand up strike fest.  The last time these two clashed at Bellator 85 the result was a split decision victory for Pat Curran.  It’s anyone’s guess whether this fight will go the distance, but one thing is for sure, you can count on an aggressive start to the match as they’re both gonna be anxious to make it absolutely clear who the better fighter is.

Along side these two explosive fighters will be a barrage of heavyweight and light heavyweight battles including:

  • Cheik Kongo vs. Lavar Johnson
  • Bobby Lashly vs. Josh Burns
  • Muhammad Lawal vs. Dustin Jacoby

The preliminary card will feature yet another heavyweight, two middleweight, and one bantamweight brawl with some of the freshest talent in MMA.  Bellator 123’s preliminary card will be live streamed on Spike.com with the main card airing later that evening on Spike TV.

Check back with us over the next 7 days as we bring you exclusive interviews with Curran, Kongo, Lawal and more!
