UFC Middleweight Luke Rockhold Still Doesn’t Respect Vitor Belfort

UFC on FX 8’s main event saw Luke Rockhold (12-2) get his head almost kicked off the heel of a spinning back kick from former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and currently ranked number 2 UFC Middleweight Vitor Belfort (24-10).

It was the first loss for the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Rockhold in 5 years and second loss on his fight resume as a whole.

During that time Belfort was notoriously utilizing testosterone replacement therapy which has since been banned from the UFC.

Recently Rockhold has been on a tirade of calling out the man who handed him…or kicked to him his last defeat.

Even bringing up a fight for the UFC Middleweight Title that Belfort was supposed to compete in against Chris Weidman.

“You know Vitor Belfort is coming off the TRT, training for Weidman, there is probably a high chance that he gets injured,” said Rockhold on LowKick.com.

“Maybe he is clean, but maybe he tries to take something and gets caught. Steroids keep you intact, and he’s probably so frail from the steroids and he will just break. You see these guys come off the steroids and they are just so fragile.”

Belfort replied calmly.

“That playboy is still in shock from the kick. He’s in shock,” said Vitor. “A lot of guys they are just mama’s boys with powder in their butts.”

Luke answered.

“At least I don’t have steroids in my butt,” said Rockhold to Anton Tabuena for BE. “That’s pretty much what I got to say about Vitor. Powder on my butt is a lot better than steroids in it. I’m not a cheater and Vitor has been caught multiple times so I’ve got no respect for him.”

“His fans that want to say that I’m bitching, well I’m not complaining because I lost. I think the loss is the best thing that ever happened to me. It is what it is, but it’s the fact that the got caught for steroids after, that’s the issue. If you didn’t get caught for steroids, I wouldn’t be talking, but he did.”

“Guys are still cheating, but we’ll see how it ends up. I would love this sport to get blood tested. That’s the only way to really find these guys too who are using HGH and all these other things. I’m not a fan of cheaters, straight up, and their fans can go… Well, you know.”

“I’m not a big fan of people who like cheaters and don’t have respect for the sport. If you don’t like a clean sport and call yourself a fan, I feel bad for you.”

I vote that Belfort gets the title shot that he deserves then Rockhold can get a crack.

But I’m extremely biased.

Judge me.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
