Top 5 Guys That Could Challenge Brock Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Title

Brock Lesnar is on a tear.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Division 1 Wrestling Champion, ex NFL player and all around just brutal badass has demolished everything in his sights recently.

He is the 1 behind the 1 in the 21-1. He ate, slept, and conquered the biggest streak in sports entertainment and he made John Cena his personal “female dog” in their encounter at Summerslam last weekend.

It was quite possibly the most lopsided squash match to main event a PPV for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

16 suplexes.

He threw a grown man over his head and launched him 16 times through the air.

He is the beast incarnate, so who could challenge him for that gold that he carries like a toy?

John Cena has invoked his rematch clause to gain the next title shot at the Night of Champions PPV and I’m basically expecting a replay of the events that happened at Summerslam only a tid bit more offense from Cena.

He may get to perform 2 “Attitude Adjustments” if he’s lucky.

But what about Hell in a Cell? Survivor Series? TLC? Who will challenge the “Paul Heyman Guy” for the belt?

Here are the top 5 guys that are in a position of relevance that could do so.

5. Mark Henry

The “World Strongest Man” against the “Beast Incarnate”

Almost a year ago Brock made a triumphant return and kayfabe like “broke” Henry’s arm. WWE could use a video montage of those events to hype Mark Henry in a revenge attempt and bid at the WWE World Heavyweight TItle.

Much like years ago they utilized Bob Holly’s broken neck to push him into the title picture with Brock Lesnar and in all honesty that wasn’t a bad match.

At any point in time the WWE can grab Mark in put him in the Title picture because he’s a big guy and has a decent fan following. How cool was it when he gave his “retirement” speech on Raw last year and turned heel and World Stongest Slammed John Cena? I know i jumped for joy.

That led to a decent title fight at a great Money in the Bank PPV and he could provide the same kind of entertainment mixed with a revenge factor to push a Title fight with Brock Lesnar.

4. Dean Ambrose

The “Lunatic Fringe” against The “1 Behind the 1”

Dean Amborse is currently in a feud with Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins and honestly nobody wants to see that end. Both former members of the shield have the total package, great on the mic, great in the ring and their chemistry is unparalleled.

But when it ends what if he defeats Seth for the coveted Money in the Bank briefcase?

Dean could tease Brock and frustrate Brock around the ring during matches much like he does with Seth now.

How entertaining was it when he basically destroyed the brief case and had Rollins on the brink of insanity just so the “One Man Band” Heath Slater could pick up a victory?

I could see him doing that to Lesnar but Lesnar overcoming the distraction.

How about Paul promoting his client Brock to the point that The Big Show and Mark Henry challenge him to a handicap match and beat Brock to a pulp then Ambrose’s music hits…

Just a thought.

3. Chris Jericho

The “Iotola of Rock-n-Rolla” vs “The Next Big Thing”

The banter and dialogue between Jericho and Bray Wyatt as of late has been epic, then again Jericho can  trash talk with the best of them as can Bray Wyatt.

As can Paul Heyman.

Let’s go back in time circa 2001 and the “Invasion” storyline.

Heyman was an announcer and the leader of the ECW faction and the number 1 ass-kisser to Stephanie McMahon. He was called out numerous times when Steph and Jericho dueled with words in the ring.

Basically the only time fans got to see Heyman and Y2J go at it on the mic.

Jericho was the first ever Undisputed Champion and he could bring this up as many times as he wants to sell a match.

“Yea you beat an old man for the first time at Wrestlemania Brock but I beat both The Rock and Stone Cold in the same night, can you say you did that?”

And honestly has anyone seen Chris Jericho have a bad match? Like ever?

Imagine Brock is beating the hell out of Jericho and hoists him up for an F-5 only to have it reversed into a code-breaker.

Survivor Series is Jericho?

2. Roman Reigns

The “Former Leader of the Most Dominant Force the WWE Has Ever Seen” takes on The “Most Dominant Force in the WWE”

This match-up just makes sense.

However the WWE made it known that they want Roman’s run to the top to be slow and deliberate. This bout is rumored to main event Wrestlemania 31.

Reigns while he was in the Shield was completely over with the fans and now he’s even more so. Fans come out of their seat when he drop kicks somebody on the apron, they throw their fists in the air when he superman punches and they get more ratchet than a Lil Boosie concert when he spears somebody.

Imagine if Reigns goes to superman punch Brock and Lesnar grabs his arm and picks him up on his shoulders to F-5 him or Lesnar misses an F-5 and he gets speared out of his boots.

Of all the people mentioned on this list Roman is the only guy that can beat Brock Lesnar and make it look believable. His size, speed, athleticism, power, ability, aggressiveness all match-up with Brock’s and both resemble that of what the WWE wants to have their title belt on. Buff monstorous looking super heavyweight kind of men.

Men that look like they could lift a car to save a child.

Men that resemble a Die Hard villain.

Men that could grow a full length beard over-night.

Men that could punch a shark in the face and drop an elbow on a bear.

Men that go on fishing trips with their bare hands after drinking a full keg and coming back having a boat full of swordfish.

This match-up would be incredibly crowd pleasing and maybe match of the year.

Believe that.

1. Cesaro

Former “Paul Heyman Guy” vs “Paul Heyman Guy”

The only issue I have with this match-up is the lack of push that Cesaro is having ever since Paul Heyman left his side.

Then again that’s the perfect ploy to start the rivalry.

Cesaro loses to either Swagger, Big-E, Rusev, hell even Heath “One Man Band” himself Slater by fluke or something wild and obvious.

Lesnar’s music hits and Heyman comes out with microphone in hand.

“You know Cesaro I was everything that made you great, you were a main eventer, a force to be reckoned with, a feared Swedish stallion, competed in the Elimination Chamber, the Money in the Bank Ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, you won the first ever Andre The Giant 30-Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royale while I was in your corner, your manager, your rock, your handler, hell I even gave you your nickname ‘The King of Swing’

“Now look at you, yea you might win here or there but then you lose here or there. That wouldn’t happen under my tutelage which is why I only cater to beasts. Beasts like my client BRAACCKKK LESNNNAARRR. The beast incarnate, the 1 behind the 1 in 21-1, the man who conquered John Cena. But while Brock is a beast he is also giving, humble, helpful and compassionate and he feels that I threw you under the bus when I left your side.”

“Brock wants to give you a chance.”

I’d get chills.

I hate the fact that Cesaro’s push was diminished but this would obviously let a legit competitor and amazing wrestler to really show off his skills. Think of those two matches with John Cena he had on Raw.

Hoisting Cena over the turnbuckle from the back of the ring? Reversing an “Attitude Adjustment”

Imagine if the crowd witnessed him as he lifts Brock up for a Cesaro Swing.

These are the 5 active guys that could legitimately challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title and if your opinion differs…

You’re wrong.
