Will Roman Reigns Current Push Lead to Quick Title Shot?; Who is Joining the “Smackdown” Broadcast Booth?

Roman Reigns went from the spear delivering face of the Shield to the overwhelmingly popular super-punching Samoan in a blink of an eye.

He can do no wrong in the crowd’s eyes and his move set even keeps the stingiest wrestling fan at the edge of their seat.

But will that lead to a quick title shot against the devastating “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar?

Not yet.

The “Wrestling Observer” indicated that Roman Reigns mega push is still a go to become the next major WWE superstar but he will more than likely not capture the WWE World Heavyweight Title in 2014.

Many thought that Roman would get a shot after John Cena was massacred at Summerslam, but with Lesnar’s schedule and the rumor that he is to hold on to the strap until Wrestlemania, chances are that Reigns and his fans will have to wait a tad bit longer.

Some speculate that Roman’s major WWE moment will come on the “Grandest Stage of them All” at Wrestlemania because when one is that “over” with the crowd it’s the logical next step in their career to have that defining achievement of success.

Another achievement of success as an announcer is to gain a promotion.

Well I guess a promotion is good an every line of work.

Even still, Tom Phillips who is the mouth piece of WWE Main Event and WWE NXT has received the “go ahead” according to WWE.com to join Michael Cole and John Bradshaw Layfield tonight for WWE Smackdown.

Tom debuted in 2012 and has been on the road to success as an announcer ever since.

Michael Cole was the first to congratulate Phillips on his achievement.

“Tom works hard and he has a great work ethic,  he’s dedicated to the product and the business and is doing very well. He has really earned this opportunity.”

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
