Chael Sonnen should start paying rent in the news because it seems like he’s made it his new home.
Which isn’t a bad thing for anybody.
He’s entertaining and when he speaks, people listen whether they like him or not.
He sells his style, his skill set, his mouth, his talents, basically he sells himself to the masses in large quantities.
However he just retired from the sport of MMA. What else could he possibly do?
In a previous article SciFighting mentioned that he went on the “Talk is Jericho” podcast not too long ago and this is what the former number 1 UFC Contender in two different weight classes had to say:
“I got a call about two days before I was suspended, Sonnen said on the “Talk is Jericho” podcast. “A WWE exec calls me up, and he said, ‘We read what you’re going through, we’re not interested.’ So I’m thinking, ‘why did you call me?’ He said ‘If you were 24 years old, you’d be making a whole jackpot full of money … but we think TNA is going to be calling you and if they do, we want back in the game‘ So I was like, OK, now at least I get we’re you’re coming from.”
It is more than likely the outspoken Sonnen will get a call from TNA as they are more than ok with recruiting active MMA fighters to participate on their shows.
King Mo is on the regular Thursday night edition on Spike TV and Tito Ortiz and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson have both been involved with storylines in the promotion.
If TNA chooses to recruit Chael they will either get a huge addition in the “mic skills” category or Sonnen will receive a massive offering for the WWE who is no stranger to recruting Mixed Martial Arts practitioners as well.
Ken Shamrock and Dan “The Beast” Severn have both appeared on pay-per-views and RAW events in the 90’s but Sonnen would be a huge boost for selling matches and trash talking opponents as MMA fans already know.
