EJ Brooks (7-3) is a warrior who has shown his skill in two major MMA promotions, RFA and Bellator and now he’s landed in Titan and was set to face a former champion at Titan FC 29.
Former TUF Champion, Efrain Escudero (20-8) was written in to take on EJ but that was before UFC Match-Maker, Joe Silva called.
Efrain is now back in the UFC and EJ is left without an opponent for now.
“It’s a huge letdown, I was totally pumped for that fight. I would have been able to say that I beat a TUF Champion, he was a great match-up for me and it’s one of the fights that’s hard to find because he was a big name.”
EJ had trained really hard and felt he was in the best shape of his life.
“Training was going pretty good at ATT in Coconut Creek, FL. That was going to be the best fight I’ve ever been in after training camp. I thought I was better than him everywhere, he only really has more submissions than me. I have better striking and wrestling so the gameplan was for me to do what I wanted. To strike when I wanted and take him down whenever I needed to.”
Brooks is looking forward to landing an opponent and issues a challenge to a former Bellator Champion.
“As of right now I’m just looking for a new opponent and I should find out in a couple of days. I would love to fight Michael Chandler, but I can’t release why because of personal reasons. Just know that we know each other and I’ll leave it at that.”
Even with the release of Efrain, the show will not only go on but will still be full of explosive fights and whomever Titan FC chooses to replace Efrain with will be someone that can surely rise to the occasion.
