Legacy FC 33 Results; Brad Mitchell Narrowly Escapes Darius Yancy via Split Decision


155lb Lightweight Bout; Darius Yancy (3-4) vs Brad Mitchell (3-1)

Round 1:  Yancy lands a right leg kick and Brad misses 2 right hooks in a row, Darius lands another leg kick but eats a right hand and then misses a straight axe kick. Brad tries a take down and fails so he presses Darius up against the cage where Darius tries to pull guard but both combatants make their way to their feet quickly. Yancy drops Mitchell with a right but Mitchell gets up only to eat another left followed by two leg kicks and Darius takes Brad down to to end the round.

Round 2: Brad lands a winging hook but Darius takes him down and takes his back rather quick, Yancy fails on two straight RNC attempts but Brad reverses fortune to put himself into a mount position.  Then Brad takes Darius’ s back and legitimately remains there for the remainder of the round failing to secure rear naked chokes.

Round 3: Brad lands a hard over hand right and pins Yancy against the cage. Brad backs off to land another right but Darius takes Mitchell down.  Yancy escapes a guillotine choke from Brad and works small punches and knees from the top position. Darius keeps Brad’s back to the mat for the remainder 2 minutes of the fight.

Official Decision: Brad Mitchell def. Darius Yancy via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
