Surprising first bout on the card and it could determine the next opponent for whoever wins the main event for the lightweight title.

155lb Lightweight Bout; Melvin Guillard (31-13-2) vs Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (18-7)

Round 1: Melvin wastes no time and drops JZ with a quick right, they both land hard over hand rights and Melvin lands a push kick. Cavalcante comes in and eats a hard well timed upper cut, Guillard looks fluid and the extra weight must be in his fists. Guillard lands a left-right to the body. Melvin lands a hard right hook then hard knees, JZ lands a head kick but eats an upper cut. Gesias has a mouse early on and eats another right, directly on the eye, and the two warriors absolutely throw down to end the round with right and left hooks along the cage from both comabtants.

Round 2: Melvin lands a fast upper cut, and eats a high kick and JZ takes Guillard down, but Melvin gets up. and is pressed against the fence. Fighters circle and Melvin lands a hard right and JZ straps on his roller skates. Guillard swarms landing punches on the cage and Gesias fails a take down and falls to the mat where Melvin lets his hands go, JZ valiantly makes his way to his feet but eats a buffet of knees and punches and the ref comes in to halt the action.

Official Decision: Melvin Guillard def. Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante via TKO due to strikes (punches & knees) at 2:32 of Round 2
