Main event of the under card features twice eliminated from TUF, Jake Heun looking to reverse his fortunes.

205lb Light Heavyweight Bout; Jake Heun (5-3) vs Kendrick Miree (5-1)

Round 1: Miree lands a hard right then a knee followed by a take down where he quickly takes Jake’s back. Heun attempts to stand-up and succeeds but Miree lands another knee and another to the body of Jake. Kendrick dictates the pace along the fence but Heun opens up with a right-left combo of hooks of his own, Kendrick throws Jake to the ground and takes side mount. Fighters tentatively circle each other and Jake lands a hard left, Kendrick fakes a superman punch and gets another take down to end the round.

Round 2: Kendrick lands the only shot, a leg kick, in the first minute of the round, then lands a light front kick to Jake’s body. Jake answers with a hard right, but ducks right into a hard knee by Kendrick. Heun pressures Miree on the cage but is reversed in position, time is called for a new mouth piece for Kendrick. Heun lands a stiff jab then a right hook that stuns Kendrick, then he lands a left and is pushed along the fence and the round ends but not until Jake lands hard elbows and punches on the side of Kendrick’s face.

Round 3: Jake opens the round with a hard left hook, and barely misses a right. More circling in the cage than a scantron sheet, and Kendrick lands a brief take down. Both stand up and Jake misses two over hand rights. Heun lands a right but eats a knee to the body, before Miree gets another take down, but yet again not for long. Heun lands a nice left and bloodies Kendrick’s face, Heun lands a left and the round and the fight end.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
