UFC Fight Night 43 Auckland Results; Jared Rosholt Halts Soa Palelei’s Winning Streak By Dominance

The UFC continues the action from New Zealand with a dynamite Heavyweight bout.

205+lb Heavyweight Co-Main Event Bout; Soa Palelei (21-3) vs Jared Rosholt (10-1)

Round 1: Feeling out process to start, Jared comes in but lands nothing, Soa lands a take-down but Jared gets up then Palelei tries again, lands and Jared is up again. Rosholt works for a take-down of his own, instead he presses Soa against the fence. Soa tries a take-down but Jared lands a take-down instead and lands on Soa’s back and lands punches to the side of Palelei’s head. Rosholt continues to land from the back on the ground, and won’t allow Soa up. Poalelei gets on top randomly at the end of the round and lands some quick ground and pound to end the round.

Round 2: Soa lands a hard left hand, but Rosholt pushes Palelei against the cage and lands a trifecta of wicked upper cuts along the cage that rocks Soa. Jared lands a knee to the face of Palelei along the cage, and stays in close to dirty box. Action stops and crowd begins to boo, Rosholt lands another knee to the face, and Jared is landing just enough for the referee not to separate them. Soa looks fatigued, who has never went an entire fight time of 15 minutes, Jared presses once more against the cage and lands an elbow to the side of the head of Soa to end the round.

Round 3: Rosholt lands an easy take-down and takes Palelei’s back, then transitions to side guard, then to side mount. Jared then utilizes north-south position, then back to Soa’s back to land punches to the side of Palelei’s head. Jared lands knees to the side of Soa and lands in side mount once more to an absolutely exhausted Palelei. Rosholt treats Soa like a child that stole a cookie and grounds him for basically for the remainder of the fight.

Official Decision;  Jared Rosholt def. Soa Palelei via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
