WSOF 10 will broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network, June 21st at 10 pm EST. The event will feature a Cerberus styled 3 headed main event, playing host to the WSOF Middleweight Belt being determined, and the Featherweight and Women’s Strawweight straps being defended.

The Main event will be a clash between former UFC veterans and current WSOF stalwart Middleweights, Dave Branch (13-3) and Jesse Taylor (27-9) both will be vying for the promotion’s inaugural 185 pound title.

When Branch was in the UFC he defeated Rich Attonito and sent him down to welterweight, as well as Thomasz Drwal sending him his pink slip from the company.

However David has no current plans to return.

“I’m not really thinking about the UFC at all, my main focus is this WSOF Middleweight Title fight with Jesse Taylor, and then becoming a dominant champion in the World Series Of Fighting.”

“Jesse is a tough guy, he’s been around the block alot.”

Jesse Taylor has won 4 titles in his career, fought in the UFC, Strikeforce and Dream as well as competed in season 7 of the Ultimate Fighter and is riding a 7 fight win streak. Taylor last defeated Elvis Mutapcic at WSOF 7 via unanimous decision to compete in the finale of the World Series of Fighting middleweight title tournament.

Branch defeated Danillo Villefort via decision for his entrance into the title fight and acknowledges Jesse’s accolades but looks to make WSOF 10 his Diana Ross styled “I’m Comin’ Out” party.

“It’s a great fight for me and I can’t wait to show the world that I’m at the top of the heap in the middleweight division. It’s a fight I need against him and his pedigree. I want to show I can fight any fighter from strikers, to BJJ experts to with him a wrestler and I’m always looking to finish but I’m definitely going to finish this fight. I see me knocking him out or submitting him, I don’t like to call out rounds but I know it’s going to happen, I just don’t know when. This isn’t a personal vendetta, it’s just business.”

Branch hasn’t changed his training and swears he will take Taylor out.

“I’m not changing anything in training, I’m prepared for all aspects of the fight. I want to spice the fight up and show a full range of mixed martial arts and I will finish this fight, I don’t know how but I will be looking for oppurtunities all night to finish.”

Dave refuses to look past Taylor, even though he does have interest in a rematch down the road with a fellow WSOF fighter.

“I don’t look past any opponent, I have my full focus on Jesse Taylor now and then I’ll see who comes after. I’d fight anybody in the world, but I’d love to have a rematch with Palhares. But right now I have to gobble up Jesse Taylor before I can get seconds.”

Rousimar Palhares is the current WSOF welterweight champion and submitted Branch via knee-bar at UFC on Versus 3 in 2011. If David is to get past Taylor, a future “Champion v.s. Champion” bout could be very intriguing.

But first comes first and first WSOF will offer Branch v.s. Taylor in the main event of World Series of Fighting 10 on June 21st, in but one of three championship fights on tap for the explosive evening.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
