After all the speculation about who the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey (9-0), would fight next, UFC president Dana White went on Twitter to silence all the rumors, and announce an official defense of her title, against Alexis Davis (16-5).
Ronda Rousey vs Alexis Davis Saturday, July 5th for the women’s bantamweight title in Las Vegas for International Fight Week!!!

The bout will take place at UFC 175 on July 5, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will coincide with International fight week, as well as the finale for The Ultimate Fighter 19, which is the next day, at the same venue.
The main event for UFC 175 is a highly-anticipated middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida, a bout that was pushed back from UFC 173 after Weidman underwent knee surgery. A light-heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Dan Henderson has also been linked to this event but it has not yet been finalized. The coached of The Ultimate Fighter: Brasil 3 will settle the score at this event when Wanderlei Silva fights Chael Sonnen.
This will be the first fight back for Rousey since a February 22 clash with Sara McMann at UFC 170. Rousey retained her title in that fight and also scored the first TKO win of her career after she kneed McMann in the body, hurting her, and piling on the shots until the referee stopped the fight.
Davis will be returning, not only from a split decision win over Jessica Eye, but from her fifth straight win. Davis won her first fight in the UFC at UFC 161 against Rosi Sexton, and then beat former title challenger Liz Carmouche before fighting Eye and gaining the title shot.
