UFC Fight Night: Te Huna vs. Marquardt – June 28th, 2014

The UFC has announced that it will be holding a card in New Zealand on June 28th. The card will be headlined by New Zealand’s own James Te Huna who will me taking on veteran Nate Marquardt. Te Huna and Marquardt are both coming a string of losses and will be looking to find success by moving weight classes. Te Huna is dropping down from light heavyweight after consecutive losses to Mauricio Rua and Glover Texeira. Marquardt will be returning to the middleweight division after a four fight stint at welterweight, where he has lost his last three fights to Hector Lombard, Jake Ellenberger, and Tarec Saffiedine. The event will take place on the same day as UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens.

UFC 175: Weidman vs. Machida – July 5th, 2014

The UFC’s Fourth of July weekend card has received an additional middleweight bout as TUF 17 finalist Uriah Hall will take on Thiago “Marreta” Santos. Hall is 1-2 in his UFC career, but put on his best performance inside the Octagon in his last bout versus Chris Leben. Hall was too fast for his much older foe and defeated him by first round TKO. Santos was thought of as not much more than a sacrificial lamb for Ronny Markes in his last bout. In a strange turn of events, Santos defeated the heavily favord Markes by first round TKO. UFC.com announced the news.
