Almost a week removed from when it was made official, the fight to headline the April 25th card has hit a snag.  Former TUF runner up Vinny Magalhaes (10-7) has to exit the bout due to some unfortunate medical issues.

Vinny, who has only stoppage victories on his record, had to walk away from competition this past weekend against Keenan Cornelius at a Metamoris mma event due to a staph infection.  The infection appears to also be the reasoning behind why he won’t be in the main event for Titan FC 28 in Kansas City.

Originally scheduled to go against “The Hitman” Jason Brilz (21-5), the Brazilian will have to be fully healed before any inkling of a return.

Now Titan CEO Jeff Aronson, will grab his searchlights and begin looking for a suitable replacement for the submission specialist, Magalhaes, while Brilz who is enjoying a 3 fight win streak since his time in the UFC, waits in the wings for a backup plan, in a match up that could potentially grant a call back from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

For fans, the recent influx in recognizable signees could help give Brilz an opponent who carries some weight, making a victory, all the more important while providing the fans and fighters alike what they want from the Fans, Fighters, First, mentality.

Check back with SciFighting for all your updates on the next opponent for Jason Brilz at TFC 28.

Highly passionate MMA Journalist, and I've followed the sport ever since my favorite fighter, Vitor Belfort won the heavyweight tournament at UFC 12. After that I've tried to go to every local MMA event around the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas and decided to make it a point to have a career in some aspect in the fighting sport other than fighting in general (didn't want to ruin my face). I'm currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University working towards a degree in Communication. I cover MMA, Boxing and Football for The Daily Star newspaper in my hometown of Hammond, Louisiana, in addition to working as a promotional writer for a local Boxing promotion known as BoxnCar and I cover boxing for 8countnews.com however SciFighting.com is my home. My main goal is to bring more publicity to MMA in my area and to the sport as a whole as all of us involved with the sport are merely scratching the surface and laying the foundation of what mixed martial arts competition will be further down the road.
