In a media scrum interview with MMAFighting, a buoyant Georges St-Pierre shared some interesting details to his current life, such as how he always ate whatever he wanted, even when he was training.
When asked whether he’s still training everyday, GSP replied, “Oh ya, I train everyday. I feel actually more healthy than I ever felt before. The stress of competition was eating me alive, I even gained 3 kilos of muscle mass. I feel great, I feel good.”
But perhaps most interesting, when asked whether he’d return to UFC, GSP smiled and said,
“Don’t blink, but I don’t know, we’ll see. It could be a yes, fast, or it could be a no it depend. I can’t tell you everything I have to keep myself some secret sometimes.”
While being interviewed, GSP displayed carefree body language, looking more happy than ever. Sometimes, as fans, we may forget the intensity that the sport requires of a champion. Similarly, after Anderson Silva’s first loss to Chris Weidman, he immediately said that he didn’t want to compete for the belt anymore.
Perhaps it’s not a coincidence that the two most dominant former champions shared a similar sentiment. The difference, is that Anderson Silva came back and even after the gruesome injury, is aiming to comeback once again. Will GSP return? Many speculate yes, but only time will tell.
However, even if GSP never returns, we can always be marveled with his storied career. Check out this fantastic highlight by Derevnia on youtube:
