Anderson Silva’s road to recovery has been nothing short of phenomenal. The former middleweight champ’s horrific injury at UFC 168 seemed to light a fire under him.
Silva broke his tibia and fibula over Chris Weidman’s leg in the rematch of their July 2013 bout in which Weidman took the belt from Silva in a colossal upset.
He has since been documented attending physical therapy earlier than expected and even walking, albeit slowly, down a flight of stairs, all while keeping his optimism on high. He was even spotted lifting light weights in the gym.
Silva has taken another huge step towards an Octagon return with this post of him hitting pads at the gym. He throws his punches gingerly but the fact that he is in there at all is a testament to what he has accomplished in just a few short months.
