Lion Fight Promotions has announced Lion Fight 14 for the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is set for Friday, March 28th.

Featured on the card is a women’s welterweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Jorina Baars. This fight will create the first welterweight champion for Lion Fight Promotions.

Cyborg returned to the sport of kickboxing in September of 2013 after a seven-year layoff taken after her debut in the sport. She is undefeated at 2-0 with her most recent win coming by way of TKO over Jennifer Colomb at Lion Fight 11. Colomb was a late replacement but held a 10-0 record in muay thai. She was finished in the third round after a one-sided bout.

Lion Fight Promotions CEO Scott Kent spoke on what having Cyborg in LFP means to them:

“We are excited to have ‘Cyborg’ back with us March 28 for LION FIGHT 14 in Las Vegas,” said Kent in a press release. “In her last fight, Cyborg absolutely dominated French Muay Thai Champion Jennifer Colomb, leaving no question that she is a legitimate two-sport athlete who can win impressively in both MMA and Muay Thai. She also showed she is an aggressive fighter who has the power and pace to finish fights. I think she won over a lot of new fight fans in our ring, and they can’t wait to see her in action again.”

Lion Fight 14 starts at 5:00 p.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET with the live broadcast on AXS TV starting at 7:00 p.m. PT/10:00 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale today, February 8th right here.
