UFC on FOX 10 had some great moments on it, it also had some controversial ones.

The main event was a lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson. Henderson escaped the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with a split decision win but it wouldn’t be a ‘Bendo’ victory if their wasn’t some controversy surrounding it. Many fans believed that Thomson did enough not only to squeak out a split decision but instead a unanimous decision given his footwork while striking and also his takedowns and back control.

The co-main event was a heavyweight bout between Stipe Miocic and Gabriel Gonzaga. Miocic extended his win streak with a decision over Gonzaga, snapping his streak in the process.

The highlight of the main card was a head kick knockout from Donald Cerrone over Adriano Martins. The kick was set up after a series of low kicks by Cerrone which lower the guard of Martins when he finally threw the kick that landed flush to the side of Martins’ head.

This marked just one of three head kick knockouts — one was a TKO set up with a stunning wheel kick, the other finished off with strikes after a regular high kick.

The first was in the first fight of the evening on the UFC Fight Pass. Nikita Krylov took out Walt Harris in under 30 seconds. A perfect head kick rocked Harris and he finished him with strikes.

Another was the wheel kick sent from Daron Cruickshank to Mike Rio. Cruickshank was perfect up to and including during the wheel kick. The kick didn’t land flush on Rio who was backing up. He was badly hurt by the kick and was finished off with a series of punches.
