For it’s 15th installment of phenomenal professional kickboxing cards, GLORY goes to Istanbul. GLORY visited Turkey for their 6th event in April of last year. Saki headlined that event against Daniel Ghita. Saki won via TKO.
Legendary kickboxer Gokhan Saki (79-16) was featured on an event poster recently which marked just one competitor in an upcoming light-heavyweight tournament. Saki makes his light-heavyweight debut against Nathan Corbett (57-4).
Saki last fought in the GLORY 11 heavyweight tournament where he lost to Rico Verhoeven in the opening round. His opponent Corbett last fought Tyrone Spong at that same event in the featured bout. Spong won via knockout. Corbett will now try to defeat Saki to set up a potential rematch with Spong.
The other side of the tournament bracket features Spong (90-5) as he battles Saulo Cavalari (28-2). Cavalari scored a scary knockout of Mourad Bouzidi in a sobering finish at GLORY 12 in New York.
The headline bout is a heavyweight affair between Errol Zimmerman and Ben Edwards. After a scintillating knockout of Hesdy Gerges at GLORY 11, Zimmerman (101-11-1) fell to Daniel Ghita at GLORY 13 in Japan. Edwards (36-9-3) scored a comeback win over Jamal Ben Saddik at GLORY 12, his promotional debut. This marked his fourth straight win.
