The first of event of 2014 was a Fight Night card based in Singapore, a first for the UFC. The headliner for the UFC Fight Night 34 card was a welterweight tilt between the last Strikeforce welterweight champion, Tarec Saffiedine and Hyun Gyu Lim. The main event earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

Saffiedine won the fight, his UFC debut, although he was threatened by a blitz late in the final round.

From the card, all 20 participants were drug tested and luckily, all 20 passed their tests. The UFC was forced to self-govern their own testing regimen as Singapore doesn’t have an athletic commission but it seems as though they did an adequate job.

SciFighting confirmed the previously reported news with UFC officials who also stated that no fighters on the card had applied for therapeutic-use exemption for testosterone.

The drug tests administered to the fighters looked for steroids and performance-enhancers, and also for marijuana and cocaine.

UFC Fight Night 34 marked the debut event that was aired on the brand new UFC Fight Pass. It kicked off to rave reviews of that particular stream as viewers complimented it’s smooth streaming. The preliminary card aired at 6:30 a.m. ET making the use of Fight Pass ideal.
