On January 6th, World Series of Fighting Executive Vice President and matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz went on to the MMA Hour to challenge Bellator to a promotion vs. promotion PPV event that would pit some of the best fighters from each promotion against one another to not only prove who was the best (at least on that given night) but also to give fans the fights they would want to see if such a card was made in to a reality.

The headliner of the event would feature a ‘super fight’ between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Tyrone Spong who recently took to Twitter to have a fight of their own.

Rampage has since been announced as a participant in the Bellator Season 10 light heavyweight tournament while Bjorn Rebney let his opinion on the UFC’s handling of the Georges St-Pierre/Drug Testing Saga be known to media on Monday afternoon’s conference call.

Bellator was quiet when it came to the challenge issued by the World Series of Fighting and no word was given from either promotion on the fate of the proposed card until now.

World Series of Fighting executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz took to Twitter to express an opinion of his own as he claimed Rebney used the GSP scandal as a distraction to avoid talks of the challenge while also failing to believe in his fighters by not putting them against their respective opponents in the World Series of Fighting.

Here is the tweet sent out by Abdel-Aziz:

Twitter MMA personality @supercalo seemed to misunderstand the tweet (whether in honesty or a bit of antagonizing) in thinking that Abdel-Aziz’s words were meant towards GSP, to which Abdel-Aziz corrected him.
