Although the opening round of the Bellator Season 10 welterweight tournament hasn’t yet kicked off, the semifinals already have a date and venue.

April 11th at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, California, the welterweight semi-finals kick off. The opening round takes place at Bellator 112 on March 14th. The poster for Bellator 116 features the tagline: “Who’s Moved On, Who’s Gone Home?,” alluding to the face that the tournament has yet to begin.

Also on the Bellator 116 card, a light heavyweight bout between Vladimir Matyushenko and Joey Beltran.

Beltran made his Bellator debut at Bellator 108 last November against Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. He was knocked out in the closing seconds of round 1.

Matyushenko had success in his debut as he decisioned Houston Alexander in an uneventful fight. Both fighters are 1-0 in the promotion.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney praised the Pochenga Resort in a  press release from the company, “Pechanga was a fantastic partner for Bellator on Spike in 2013 and this partnership is only getting bigger and better in 2014. Just 90 minutes from our home base, Pechanga is our home away from home here in Southern California. With some of the best MMA fans on earth, an incredible Welterweight tournament and California’s premiere casino/resort destination, Friday, April 11th is going to be a spectacular night live at Pechanga.”

Participating in the welterweight tournament are the following fighters War Machine vs. Nah Shon Burrell, Joe Riggs vs. Sam Oropeza, Adam McDonough vs. Mark Scanlon, and Andrey Korshekov vs. Jesse Juarez.

The winner of this tournament will take on the winner of an upcoming title fight between Douglas Lima and Rick Hawn which will crown a new champion in the division since the departure of Ben Askren. That welterweight title fight is scheduled for April 18th, likely on the Bellator 117 card given that it is set for an unannounced event just a week after this one.
