The co-main event featured two light-heavyweight veterans who weren’t known for going to decision. Anthony Johnson (15-4) was fighting for a title shot and to sustain an undefeated WSOF record as he took on Mike Kyle (20-10-1, 2 NC).

Kyle made his debut last September when he lost via decision to Andrei Arlovski at WSOF 5. Johnson shares a mutual last opponent as he last defeated Arlovski at WSOF 2.

Round 1: Johnson opened this fight with some nice leg kicks. Kyle was the first to initiate the clinch game as he caught one of those kicks and held Johnson against the cage. Johnson broke free and they resumed the striking. Kyle came in and leaned too far in with a punch and was countered by Johnon. He fell flat on his face. Johnson dove and hit him with one more that was extra as the referee raced over to stop the fight.

Official Decision: Anthony Johnson defeats Mike Kyle via Knockout (punch) at 2:03 of Round 1.
