UFC welterweight Mike Swick knows about taking time off from fighting. After his bout with Paulo Thiago at UFC 109, Swick took over two years off due to stomach condition that was diagnosed incorrectly. He made his return at UFC on FOX 4 where he knocked out DeMarques Johnson.
His next fight was against Matt Brown which saw Swick on the losing end of a knockout.
Swick has been stationed in Thailand, a favorite of his, as he trains and works on his technique, although now, he will have to sit on the sidelines once more.
While there, Swick was recently involved in a motorcycle accident after hitting a patch of sand on the side of the road.
Swick posted a photo of himself in the hospital following the accident and more recently, one of his blood, still fresh on the sand that caused the accident.

Swick seems to at least be in good spirits and he didn’t report any broken bones or severe inures, luckily. Still, it was a close call and he’s fortunate to be alive, something that can surely be said for every one of his supporters.
Here is the photo of the accident scene, posted from Swick’s official Twitter.
Scene after my motorcycle wreck yesterday. Ironic my blood lay on what caused the wreck, sand! Lol pic.twitter.com/Urvy517aAQ

Along with these photos, Swick put one of his freshly injured feet on his Instagram. The picture is slightly graphic.
Swick did not have another fight scheduled, but he’ll now have to take a bit extra to heal up during what is hopefully a speedy recovery.
