In what EA Sports is calling Part 2 of it’s roster reveal, UFC middleweight Costas Philippou’s in-game likeness was unveiled. Philippou (12-3, 1 NC) will take on Luke Rockhold on January 15th in the main event of UFC Fight Night 35.

The last two additions to Part 1, Demetrious Johnson and Antonio Rodrigo ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira, can be found here.

One of the biggest changes from the, THQ developed, UFC Undisputed series is the obviously immense amount of detail that has gone into each player model.  It would seem that rather than a base model that is simply tweaked to resemble each character, each model has been designed individually in this game.

This will be the first time Philippou appears in a UFC video game.

Here is his profile for the game via the EA UFC official site:

  • Nickname: NA
  • Current Record: 12-3-0, 1NC
  • From: Limassol, Cyprus
  • Fights Out Of: Long Island, NY, USA
  • Age: 34
  • Height: 5’11” (180 cm)
  • Weight: 185 lbs (84 kg)
  • Strengths: Striking

A constant threat in the UFC’s Middleweight division, Costas Philippou has been hard at work making a name for himself in MMA since taking his first pro bout in 2008. A highly-skilled striker and former professional boxer, the hard-hitting Cyprus native packs enough power to end any of his fights by knockout. He boasts six wins by KO in his MMA career and with another win in his streak Philippou stands to establish himself as a true contender in his division.

The game has no official release date but is expected to be available sometime this Spring. It will only available on next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

EA promises the best experience inside the virtual Octagon with game and with the uncanny resemblance to Philippou this player model has, they certainly seem to be on the right track.
