Welterweight Takenori Sato is the latest addition to the UFC’s roster, and has been slated to face Erick Silva next month for his promotional debut.

Brazilian outlet Combate first reported the news, adding that Sato vs Silva is being scheduled for the UFC’s February 15 event.

Sato is a seasoned Japanese fighter and the current welterweight King Of Pancrase. A student of the iconic Kazushi Sakuraba, he holds a 14-8-6 record, and has not lost a fight since 2011. In addition to his Pancrase title, which he has defended three times so far, Sato was also the DEEP Future King tournament champion in 2004.

Erick Silva will likely be Sato’s biggest challenge yet though. The former Jungle Fight welterweight champion is 3-3 in the UFC, giving him a significant experience advantage in the cage.

He most recently lose to Kim Dong-Hyun via KO in October, and holds wins over Jason High, Charlie Brenneman, and Luis Ramos.

The two will meet at UFC Fight Night 36 on February 15, 2014. The event will take place at the Arena Jaraguá in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, and will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi.
