Joe Ellenberger, the brother of UFC welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger, has signed a 4-fight deal with the UFC. Ellenberger is 14-1 with his only loss coming by decision to UFC vet Justin Salas. Ellenberger competes in the lightweight division.

Ellenberger currently rides a 2-fight win streak and out of his 14 victories, eight come by knockout while he has submitted four others.

There is no word yet on who will welcome him in to the Octagon but given the depth of the lightweight division, it shouldn’t take long for him to be staring across the Octagon at a highly touted opponent.

Joe Ellenberger is often remembered for overcoming a blood disorder that put his fighting career in jeopardy. Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) was the condition which forced the then 24-year-old to invest in an expensive treatment which has worked well. Ellenberger took time off from 2009-2011 to heal-up from the condition to get back in to fighting shape. He went 4-1 since his return.
