Here are a few changes to fights for upcoming cards:
The updates include fights on the UFC 170 card on February 22nd and UFC Fight Night 36 which takes place the week before on February 15th.
UFC Fight Night 36: Nate Loughran has been injured and was forced to withdraw from his welterweight bout against Erick Silva. Silva has now been left without an opponent. Silva (15-4, 1 NC) last fought Dong-Hyun Kim in a stunning fight that left Silva unconscious courtesy of a big hook from Kim, handing Silva his first knockout loss.
UFC 170: Former featherweight Erik Koch (13-3) is packing on some weight to make his debut in the UFC’s lightweight division. Koch went 2-2 in the UFC losing his last 2 fights. His return to the lightweight division will be opposite Rafaello Oliveira (15-6). Oliveira was stopped in his last fight by leg kicks, giving a win to Edson Barboza.
UFC 170: Former RFA champion Zach Makovsky (17-4) will return to the Octagon for his second fight against Josh Sampo (11-2) who also fights in for the second time for the promotion. Makovsky debuted successfully against Scott Jorgenson taking Jorgenson to a unanimous decision. Sampo’s debut was also successful as he finished Ryan Benoit at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale.
UFC Fight Night 36 takes place in Jaragua, Brazil at the Arena Jaragua, on Febraury 15th. The main event of this bout is a middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi which will hopefully make room in the stacked middleweight division.
UFC 170 goes down at the Mandalay Bay Events Cener in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is headlined by a women’s bantamweight title fight between champion Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann.
