Michael Johnson might just be 6-4 in the UFC (and ranked outside of the Top 15), but back to back wins seems to have given him a huge confidence boost.
On Twitter, Johnson is requesting a bout with #5 ranked lightweight Nate Diaz, who is coming off of an impressive TKO victory over Gray Maynard at the Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale.

Johnson meanwhile picked up wins over Gleison Tibau and Joe Lauzon in 2013, and while neither are top contenders, both are very well regarded fighters. A fight with Diaz doesn’t seem out of the question, but considering the gap in rankings, it does seem fairly unlikely.
UFC president Dana White has not yet responded to, or even acknowledged, the request.
