I want to be the first person to beat Ronda — Cat Zingano
Cat Zingano, who knocked Miesha Tate out earlier this year, believes that UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will also dispose of Tate on Saturday night at UFC 168.
Zingano said Rousey is just more more determined to win.
“I just think when it comes down to it Ronda is a more technical, mentally offensive fighter and it’s going to go her way,” Zingano told UFC.com “I really hope so. I want to be the first person to beat Ronda so that’s definitely my hope for the night.”
Zingano said the victory will likely come from an armbar.
“I think that Ronda could probably go pull off the armbar,” Zingano said. “It’s her go-to and it’s something she has been successful with up until now. Miesha fell for it before, so she could fall for it again.”
Zingano said Rousey seems to find a way to catch everyone with the armbar and she expects Tate to fall again.
Zingano said she believes she has more weapons than Rousey and she will showcase them if they fight.
“I feel like if Ronda can’t get the armbar on me she’s screwed,” Zingano said. “I am not talking crap about her. That’s just facts. I think I am better everywhere. I have great stand-up I have great ground. I have great whatever. No one has seen that much more out of Ronda. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have it. If you have a go-to move that works 100 percent of the time you can have confidence in that all day.
Zingano was supposed to get the title shot against Rousey, but Zingano blew our her knew and was forced to back out. The UFC booked Tate in the fight instead. For now, Zingano will he happy to watch the two fighters slug it out.
“I am just really looking forward to this cat fight,” Zingano said.
